Dear Millicoma Families, 

My name is Kevin Guthrie, I am excited for the opportunity to be your new principal at Millicoma School. 

This year will be my 13th year as a part of Coos Bay Schools.  I taught math at Marshfield for nine years.  I am entering my fourth year as part of the administrative team.  While my role is changing from Assistant Principal to Principal, my overarching goal remains the same.  I will continue to focus on providing the best environment for our students and staff. 

It is important that students and staff come to Millicoma feeling safe, supported and inspired to do their best.  We have begun a trend of increased student achievement.  I want to provide the structure and opportunities to continue that trend. 

I am proud of our staff at Millicoma and the work they do with our students.   

I believe strongly in open communication with students, families, and staff.  Our students do best when we are all on the same team. 

The beginning of school is right around the corner.  I look forward to classrooms full of eager, energetic and enthusiastic students and staff!
